Covid Safety Protocol for Group Classes

  • Waivers must be signed prior to first class with dogs. It is preferred that signed waivers be scanned and emailed; but if necessary, you can hand those in at the start of the first class with dogs (week two). This includes our standard group class waiver and a covid-specific waiver.
  • Week one is mandatory orientation without dogs, as has always been the case. Instead of meeting in person, however, we will be doing that first week via zoom to further reduce risk.
  • We cannot offer make-up sessions at this time for missed classes, but we can provide video demonstration (when available) and written training plans for missed material.
  • If you or anyone in your home isn’t feeling well for any reason, please let us know immediately and do not come to class. If anyone in your family is diagnosed with covid or has been exposed, you must let us know immediatelyPlease see waiver for more details.  We are happy to make the class available to you live via Zoom.
  • We will be thoroughly disinfecting floors, stations, leash hitches, mats, doors, and handles before each class.
  • Currently, masks are optional.  This policy is subject to change depending on emerging strains and recommendations from the CDC.
  • If we are subjected to another mandated closing by NYS due to covid-19, classes will transition to Zoom. No refunds will be available.

For private training you may reschedule up to 2 times otherwise you forfeit the session.

Missed Classes
We can not offer to make up sessions for classes. Puppy students may miss 1 class out of the set, if you miss 2 classes you will, unfortunately, forfeit the set.

Health & Temperament
Dogs that are sick or recovering from illness are not permitted to partake in the class. If your dog is not neutered or spayed please disclose this as we may have to ensure they are safe during class or sessions. You may attend class without your dog in these cases and this is encouraged.

Please ensure your dog is up to date on necessary vaccines or has had a recent titer.

If your dog has a bite history you must disclose this at the time of registration. Those with a bite history must be safe during classes and, if muzzle trained, wear a muzzle. If they are not yet muzzle trained please contact us so we can ensure they are introduced to this equipment in the correct way.

We do reserve the right, in the name of safety for everyone, to decide that group classes are not a fit for your dog if their behaviour is not acceptable or productive for the environment. If this is the case, we will make arrangements for private training and apply a credit towards such from the initial payment made for the class.

Children
Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by one adult who is NOT the main handler for the dog in class. Each dog must have a focused and dedicated handler that is not distracted. 1 child welcome to attend and must be able to remain seated for the duration of the class unless working with their dog. Children under 5 years of age are not encouraged to attend classes.
